About
The City of Henderson provides a housing reconstruction program on a city-wide basis, pending availability of grant funds and stipulations required from the grant source. All applicants must meet program guidelines and eligibility requirements. The home must also be inspected and deemed eligible for reconstruction. The Community Development Division will work with the eligible household from the initial phase to final phase of construction (development and selection of housing plans, temporary relocation, razing, construction, final completion, and Certificate of Occupancy). Homeowner(s) must agree to sign all related mortgage documents and required forms in order to participate in the program for new construction (most CDBG / HOME loans are forgiven over a specified period, pending homeowner(s) ability-to-pay and program guidelines).
Currently, the city is not offering inside work on homes, but continues to strive to improve neighborhoods by removing dilapidated housing and replacing with new housing to provide decent, safe and affordable homes to homeowners.
