Henderson Fire Department
The Henderson Fire Department delivers fire suppression, fire prevention, and fire inspections to the residents of the city of Henderson, Kentucky. The fire department is comprised of 60 firefighters, which includes a training captain, an arson investigator, an inspector, three assistant chiefs, and the fire chief, as well as two administrative personnel.Emergency fire services are delivered from four stations that are located within the city limits of Henderson. A minimum of three fully staffed engine companies, one fully staffed ladder company and one rescue company will be maintained throughout each shift.
All City of Henderson Firefighters are Kentucky Emergency Medical Technicians or must be able to obtain certification within one year of employment. Additionally, they must complete 100 hours of continuing education classes per year. In year 2019, training hours of all sworn personnel were 12, 314.75.
