This project is set to significantly improve digital access for inner-city residents by leveraging the soon to be installation of new broadband fiber by Henderson Municipal Power & Light. Once this infrastructure is in place, the City will take on the next phase of the project which includes strategically evaluating locations for Wi-fi hotspots. The goal is to identify key areas where residents and businesses can benefit from reliable, high-speed internet access, particularly in underserved neighborhoods. Following the City's evaluation, Wi-fi hotspots will be installed at these selected locations, providing affordable internet access to the community.
This initiative aims to bridge the digital divide, enhance connectivity, and support both educational and economic opportunities within the inner-city.
