If you're looking to become a lifeguard with the City of Henderson there are a few requirements before applying:
1. All applicants need to be at least 15 years old.
2. Applicants must be able to complete the following swimming activities:
- Swim 150 yards continuously using front crawl or breaststroke
- Tread water for 2 minutes (using only their legs) followed by a 50-yard swim
- Complete a water rescue within 1 minute and 40 seconds
- Retrieve a 10 lb. object from 7-10 feet in deep water and swim the object back to shallow water holding it with both hands
