The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department has entered a contract with Brandstetter Carroll to create a Parks Master Plan. This plan will look comprehensively at the city park system to create a plan to guide the department for the next 10 years. Citizens, Stakeholders, and Employees will provide input into the plan and assist in guiding the department into the future.
The plan will look at park and recreation programs and activities to help determine what community needs are being met and which are not. The plan will look at parks and recreation facilities to determine a schedule for future maintenance and replacement needs. The plan will look at staffing and funding to determine how our city parks meet the needs of citizens now and if it will continue to meet those needs in the future. The plan will also specifically focus on trails and pathways that allow users to walk and bike between parks, schools, business districts, and residential areas.
This plan will seek input from citizens through surveys, open house meetings, asking citizens at local community events, and more. As the plan develops information, meeting dates, surveys, photos, updates, and eventually the final draft of the plan will be available on this web page.
